Product Description
This atlas features outstanding full-color photographs of actual cadaver dissections, with accompanying schematic drawings and diagnostic images. The photographs depict anatomic structures more realistically than illustrations in traditional atlases and show students exactly what they will see in the dissection lab. Chapters are organized by region in order of a typical dissection. Each chapter presents structures both in a systemic manner from deep to surface, and in a regional manner. This edition has sixteen additional pages of clinical images—including CT and MRI—that students can compare with cross-sectional anatomic photographs. Many pictures have been electronically enhanced or rescanned for better contrasts.

High quality images of real, expertly dissected cadavers August 13, 2010 Student The new 7th edition of Rohen's Color Atlas of Anatomy is now available and new buyers willing to pay the full sticker price should definitely give it a look. I own the 6th edition (pictured here), which is still excellent. It is full of detailed, high resolution photographs of perfectly dissected cadavers. All medical students should own this book and use it to study anatomy along with a more traditional atlas such as Gilroy's Atlas of Anatomy, which offers realistic drawings of the human body. During my studies, I combined these two texts with Moore's Clinically Oriented Anatomy, which offers written descriptions of human anatomy with clinical correlations not found in a traditional atlas. However, for preparing for medical school anatomy exams involving pinnings of real specimens, Rohen's Color Atlas of Anatomy is second to none. Every aspiring doctor should own a copy.
Wonderful Atlas! May 14, 2010 Russell Mcdaniel (Belmont, MI United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased for an undergrad cadaver-based anatomy lab. Excellent photos of very well-dissected cadavers. Good to see REAL structures, as opposed to pretty drawings. That's what I'll be tested on. Also, it's a good study aid because the structures are numbered, with a list of terms at bottom of page. Allows you to practice identifying structures with answers covered. Netter's is pretty. This is realistic. This book deserves a place on the shelf of any health professional.
Not so much February 16, 2010 Surfer (California) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Honestly this book is terrible. Half of the structures you need to know are not labeled. Your cadaver is never going to look like the pictures, they are way too clean. There are not enough views to make the book worthwile. DO NOT use this for your dissector you might as well get a Netters coloring book. There are also no explanations just labels. Go get a Clemente and check this one out at the library and get into lab cause that is the only way to learn the lab portion. Oh, and do not even think of using this book to study the internal organs it just is not going to help you at all. Its ok for the upper and lower extremities.
Very Satisfied February 15, 2010 T. Blank The description was true to what it was, it was in great condition and for a great price. I am very pleased with my purchase.
Great December 13, 2009 Robert Searles 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am a first year med student, and this book made a huge difference in my grades. You can only spend so much time in the anatomy lab, and the other atlas's that use drawings are great for learning theory, however this book allowed me to prepare well for practicals where you must identify the structure on a cadaver. Also, unlike studying real cadavers without definitive feedback, I was 100% certain whether I named the structure correct or not. The layout of the book is great. the pictures are real, and the arrows to the structures are numbered so you can name the structure without seeing the correct answer, then verify the number and name on the bottom of the same page. Well worth the investment, my grades went up significantly and made dissection much easier.
